A Bi-Xenon bulb replaces a H4 halogen bulb that produces low beam as well as high beam. A H4 halogen bulb has therefore two filaments, one for low beam and one for high beam. The Bi-Xenon bulb however, only has one 'light cell'.(See The Pic. Below)
By means of an ingenious electro-magnetic construction, this light cell can change position. One position is low beam, the other is high beam.
Slim Ballasts use smaller internal components and still offer the same input and output power as its standard sized version. With the Igniter unit in an epoxy filled chamber, we are able to reduce the size of the core unit by roughly half, also reducing the weight significantly. Slim Ballasts are easier to mount, weigh less, and allow users to install their HID systems faster with less time spent under the hood, and more time enjoying their HID lights!
If you install only one xenon hid kit (e.g for low beams only) you don't need the relay harness. But if you install several kits, for high, low or fog light, we strongly recommend to use the relay harness at least for one of the hids. The relay harness allows to connect the headlight kit directly to the battery and do not draw the current from the car wiring.
Why do you need to reconfigure the harness?
Not all vehicles wire their headlights the same, nor power their lights in the same manner. A dual filament headlight bulb outputs both low beam, and high beam light in one unit. This bulb has 3 wires, a ground, low beam power, and high beam power wire. These signal wires are not always the same position depending on vehicle model and must be reconfigured on the harness to match. With quick disconnect plugs, troubleshooting and configuring your Bi-Xenon kit to work properly on your vehicle is easy.
Single Beam don't need the relay harness.
The color of light is measured and expressed in degrees Kelvin (K). The color spectrum ranges from a red to purple. HID headlamps do not have this wide of a range though there are different bulbs that skew toward either extreme. Most are more focused on the center of that range.
4,300K is the temperature that is closest to natural daylight. Factory HID headlamps are setup for this color temperature. Conventional Halogen filament bulbs are yellowish which is equivalent to a 3,300K temperature. 6,000K has a bluish tint and temperatures above that are increasingly blue shifting to a purple tint.

Make sure your engine bay is cool to the touch.
Make certain the vehicle is in park and shut off.
Be careful not to crush or cut the bulb wiring..
Do not connect the high voltage electrodes while the light switch is on.
It is recommended to test each light function before final permanent installation.
Do not mount ballasts near extreme heat or vibration as this can shorten their life
Lights do not turn on. Solution: Reverse polarity of the ballast plug. This simply means flip the oval plug you inserted into the ballast. Ballasts are polarity (-/+) sensitive unlike regular halogen light bulbs. Retest. If problem still exists, swap ballasts or light bulbs to diagnose if the problem is the light bulb or the ballast. In many cases, its not the HID kit that is the culprit but the vehicle. Some vehicles such as Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/BMW/Mercedes etc.. may require additional wiring/canceller plugs for HID installation.
